Our PTA sponsored event, Kid’s Christmas was held Saturday, I would like to highlight the superb contributions provided by our community, as the number of parent, student and faculty and staff volunteers was sensationally, and not only did the PTA raise funds for our schools, but events like this, help create an engaged community. A special thank you to Angie Blint and Kid’s Christmas Chair, Dixie Crane, for their outstanding efforts.
We are going to request your support, as the winter seasons arrives, and bring along its wet weather and flu season, we do have students experiencing a variety of clothes needs for unexpected reasons.
If you have child (boy or girl) clothes in good condition, which your child outgrew, we would gladly accept donations of the following items for students in the age 4-8 year range.
Pants, Shirts, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Sweatpants, Socks
As the Holiday season approaches, we have three significant events on our Van Allen Calendar.
Second, our school choral and band performed Monday, December 8th at the high school gymnasium, and our students’ performance was exemplary. Each year, our VA choir grows in numbers and quality. Congratulations to our students and Mrs. Townsend for their exemplary progress.
And on our last day of school, Friday, December 19th, parents are invited to attend our all- school sing-along starting at 2:00, which will be held in the gym.
And during our winter break, we will be setting-up a winter reading program for all of our students. More information will be forthcoming late this week, as each student will be provided a Van Allen bag stocked up with books to read during our mini-vacation.
