This week, a grade three student, Flynn Lanferman, was readmitted to Children’s Hospital for continued testing and evaluation, as Flynn has been battling a Leukemia for several years. As a community, there has been a tremendous outpouring of support and inquiry to identify ways to support Flynn and his family.
After talking to several individuals, we would request that parents to spend a few moments with their children, and discuss what we know. Though Flynn has been readmitted to the hospital, our hope is to see Flynn back at Van Allen in the fall. Several students have shared a very negative perception about Flynn’s condition, which startled some students.
Second, several teachers have fielded numerous inquires how to support the Lanferman family, and several educators have created a unique way to support the Lanferman family through he upcoming weeks and months.
