Two students sharing their writing!
Dear Van Allen Community:
As we prepare for a two-week for the winter break, there are several events to share.
Friday, at 1 :00, our students will be performing their annual holiday all- school sing-along, as all parents invited. After the sing-along, parents may leave with their children to start the holiday break, as Friday is a 1:30 dismissal.
Thursday at lunch time, The PTA is hosting our annual holiday meal, and unfortunately because of limited seating and limited time, this special event is for students only, though we encourage all students to wear something special to this meal, as the Middle School Band will add their musical touch to our meal.
During winter break, Van Allen students will be bringing home a bag of books to read during read during the vacation. Though it is vacation, we need students to continue reading daily, and the book bags are one-way to provide students reading material. Though we are on a school vacation, reading must be part of our daily vacation plan.
Grade 4 to 5 student interested in participating in the Henry County Mentoring activities starting the first week of February, must return their forms before they leave for the winter break.
Friday night is the Van Allen/Salem “Pack the Gym Night’ as students will be singing the National Anthem, and prizes will be raffled at half time. What a great way to start our vacation! We hope to see as many students and families as possible. Free ticket/Raffle forms are being sent home today.
And Pilot Saving Grove Bank will be with on Thursday morning and the Mount Pleasant Library will visting Wednesday morning.
