This week third grade students are starting to learn their multiplication facts! We have started this process with learning multiple strategies to solve the same problem. We are working on commutative property, repeated addition, making an array, using a picture, and using the hundreds chart to solve the same problem.
After students are familiar with several strategies to solve the problem, we move on to memorizing the facts and fact fluency. All third grade students will be given their own multiplication cards to keep and practice with at home. We also use IXL math to practice the facts.
