This week students learned to keep themselves safe in Common Situations. Students in Junior Kindergarten through Second Grade read the Bubble Wrap Queen written by Julia Cook which discusses how to keep oneself safe. In this story students learned the B-A-S-I-C-S for keeping themselves safe. B-A-S-I-C-S stands for Be Aware and Safe In Common Situations. In this story Julia Cook does a wonderful job of educating students about bike and car safety, the dangers of matches and medication, as well as how important it is to follow rules. Following rules helps to keep us all safe.
Here are two excellent sites to help your children learn to stay safe.
