To better understand how we can help take care of this wonderful earth we live on, our class made “Earth Day” bracelets. Each bead represents a different part of our earth that we, as citizens, take for granted. While we made our bracelets, we discussed how we can all do different things to help make or keep our earth clean and better for all of us.
The children also reflected on the book by Dr. Seuss, “The Lorax”. Each student wrote a few ideas of their own on how they could be a part of keeping our earth an amazing place for the next generation. We were surprised to find a Lorax or two in our room! We even took pictures for proof!
Finally, another part of our Earth Day study is using our reading story “Ways to Help Planet Earth”. This story usually coincides with this week in April. Our class had a discussion about the ideas presented, through the article, for recycling and conservation.
