The P.L.U.S. program for gifted and talented students held their annual People Fair night last Tuesday, May 10th. This year we also had some of the students presenting their invention ideas for Invention Convention. The 4th and 5th grade students who participated in People Fair completed a long research project learning about a person who has had a significant impact on the world in some positive way. Students created display boards and dressed up as the person on Tuesday evening so that they could present to all who attended.
One of the major aspects of the project included discovering what qualities their person had which helped them to be successful or to be a leader and then to reflect on how they (the students) could emulate these characteristics to strive for success in their own lives in some way.
In the pictures, Van Allen students Natalie McCormick and Danielle Muhs are shown with their display boards and presenting their work.
