This Wednesday is our annual Holiday Student Dinner, as students will be treated to a turkey dinner, Christmas songs will be played by the Middle School Band, and the “dining hall will be decorated, courtesy of the PTA and our students’ art work. Since this is a special “Holiday Dinner”, students are invited to wear their holiday attire for our special meal.
Friday is our last special event day, coordinated by our Student Council, and this week’s theme is” Ugly Sweater Day” and of course, we will continue to accept $1 donations to make Christmas a little more special for a Van Allen family.
This week, students can earn individual PRIDE tickets based on their displaying a PRIDE action. Students observed displaying a PRIDE behavior can receive a PRIDE ticket to deposit into gift box, making them eligible to win prizes. Some of the prizes include new board games, a pizza at TASOS, free bowling games, books, food treats, gift cards, and other unique gifts. Starting Tuesday morning at our morning assembly, two ticket will be drawn daily, one ticket from JK –Grade 2 box, and a second ticket for Grades 3-5 box.
To enhance the school home PRIDE connection, today students will bring a letter home explaining the meaning of PRIDE. Then a student who displays a PRIDE behavior at home, which documented by the parent by returning form, which explains how the student showed PRIDE at home, this student will earn a PRIDE ticket to enter into the PRIDE prize drawing.
Tuesday, December 20 is our last day before break, and all parents invited for our all school sing-along starting at 2:30. At this all school sing-along, three things will happen:
- Students will choral sing Holiday songs
- This year’s Candy Cane Winter Reading program will be shared.
- And the final PRIDE all tickets will be drawn.
