The year so far in Jr. K has been a busy one. The children started the year working on learning routine, getting to know their friends, and working on their academic skills. The JrK class joined preschool in a reading event at the library
The Jr.K class participated with their 5th grade buddy class uring a shared reading time.
The children have been working on math skill using the unifix cubes, counting, making towers to show more or less, and patterning .
We celebrated 100th day of school by mixing the different snacks the children brought. They counted them into groups of 10 totaling 100.
In the upcoming months, the class will be working on learning the rest of the letter sounds with Jolly Phonics. Stretching out words and putting them together. Doing more math skills, and counting. We will hopefully be getting to do some spring things soon.
The children are eager to learn and expand their knowledge. I have enjoyed teaching this class.
