Self-Control can be a beautiful thing!

This week students Junior Kindergarten through Second Grade became Voice Volume Experts as they continued to work on developing their self-control as we focused on using the appropriate voice volume in a variety of situations.  Students read and discussed the story; Decibella and Her 6-Inch Voice written by Julia Cook and illustrated by Anita DuFalla.  Students learned when it was appropriate to use the screen-shot-2017-03-02-at-10-04-50-amfollowing voice volumes; Whisper, 6-Inch, Table Talk, Strong Speaker, and Outside.  Please praise your child at home when they use the appropriate voice volume in the correct setting.  Catching your child and praising them when they make appropriate choices helps to build their self-confidence.  Here are some excellent sites if you would like to read further in regard to helping develop your child’s ability to use self-control.
